Elisabeth Sooy

Elisabeth Sooy has been involved in music since childhood. She began formal music studies at 2-years of age and has spent her life developing her abilities as a pianist, violinist, vocalist, and conductor.

Her experience includes piano performance and accompaniment (as soloist with the Anchorage Youth Symphony, accompanist with Anchorage Community Choir and other ensembles of various sizes), worship leading (in area churches and regional conferences like the Bible League International), music teaching (in her home studio, Sooy Music Studios), conducting (the Lamb of God Oratorio in Kalamazoo, West Michigan Homeschool Fine Arts, Metropolitan Choir of Praise, and numerous other groups), and violin performance (with orchestras and as a soloist).

Elisabeth has released several recordings including a refreshing album of hymns titled Signature Hymns featuring many favorites. In the same vein, her Christmas Hymns are simple arrangements of holiday favorites to enjoy for the season. Elisabeth was also joined by her husband, Mark, for their full-featured recording titled Not Givin’ Up. In addition, she co-authored the devotional Weekday Wisdom: Daily Reflections for Leaders and Administrators.

Elisabeth’s deepest desire is to share her gifts with others and allow God to draw them nearer to Himself through the music. Whether playing piano or violin, singing or conducting, she offers her best with joy and energy. Often joined by her family – husband Mark, and three adult children – the prayer of her heart is that God would be honored as they serve Him with their musical gifts.
